How to stop swimming upstream and get the courage to embrace change

We are all experiencing change right now in varying degrees. There’s the change from Covid-19 that has rendered us isolated and with loss of work and school. Then there’s deeper changes that I’m sensing. There’s divorce, death, birth, moving, SO MUCH CHANGE all at once.

We all know to expect change as part of life. But what do you do with it when its massive and overwhelming and seemingly comes out of nowhere?

In this article we will discuss what to do with this energy of change, how to process it, how to cope with it and how to use it for your advantage.

The Energy of Change

The energy of change has arrived here at this time because it was necessary. Structures are crumbling because they need revision. We are literally dumping what is old and not working and implementing new systems. This is a time of intense restructuring and it’s happening all at once because we as a society needed it to change.

change

We are implementing a new earth. A place with a higher vibration. A system that will carry us into 5D and out of the 3D rhetoric. If you are reading this, you are part of those souls who volunteered to come here at this time to usher in this new way of being.

As you deal with your very real human issues and all of the change that is happening in your own life, keep reminding yourself that this change is for the better. Focus on the space for the new that is being created, not what what we are losing.

The Energy of Fear

When there is wide-spread fear and panic, the atmosphere around us retains that energy. It’s literally hanging out in the air. This is compounded by our own fears and insecurities. Pretty soon you notice that you are making your decisions based in fear and not in trust and love.

Fear is and instinctive reaction to change for many people. It certainly is for me as well!

I will give you a little story for reference. Just recently, my husband and I decided it would be a good time to buy a house. The instant we talked about it, everything fell into place. From the time we called our realtor to the time we put an offer on a house, it was 4 days. Then into escrow by 7 days. Talk about fear of change, holy cow!

I was a complete wreck the first 3 weeks of this experience. Constantly crying, completely doubting myself and just in total fear. When I talked to my spirit team, they were always in complete support of this move and just genuinely seemed to think it was the right decision for us.

I kept doubting.

I used pendulums and oracle cards for assisted guidance (thinking for sure I was not receiving information from spirit clearly). With each exchange, they gently reassured me and guided me. Finally, I realized I needed to trust.

Even when my logical mind couldn’t wrap my brain around the change, my heart knew. When I gave up the fear and decided I would act from trust, my decision became much easier and much clearer.

Intuition vs. Fear

When we operate in fear, our decisions are being made for what we feel would be the safest option. Notice I didn’t say the option that is for our highest good. Just the safest. Now if we can get ourselves out of fear and into trust, we see all of our options clearly and we can follow our own intuitive guidance to make the best decision for our highest good.

Our logical brain has its purpose for sure. It can weigh out the pros and cons, make sure the numbers add up, and figure out logistics. But it can’t see what spirit sees. It can’t sense the synchronicities that the universe has been so carefully crafting. It can’t see the new opportunities waiting for you after your big move or career change. It can’t see the love of your life showing up after leaving a loveless marriage.

I like to use what I call the Lean-In exercise when making a decisions. You close your eyes and get quiet. You ask yourself about option A and then lean into it. Does it feel warm, inviting and expansive? or does it feel cold and restricted. Then repeat for option B. Whichever one feels expansive is most likely the option that is for your highest good.

My guides gave me a beautiful analogy about trust and change for my own situation that I’d like to share with you:

When you’re in a river, you have two choices. You can hold on for dear life onto the river bank as the strong currents rush by. Or you can let go and trust and see where the current takes you.

Let’s all drop our fears together and see where the current takes us! It’s way more fun and easier in the sense that you’re not fighting life. You’re going with the flow of life. Time to let go, friends.

Methods of coping with change

1. Practice daily ritualschange

Having a consistent ritual that you can look forward to grounds you and helps relieve some of the fear that comes with change. This can be as simple as having your cup of coffee or tea in your sacred space with your journal every morning. Often, just lighting one of my favorite candles and sitting in silence or a with a good book is enough of a ritual for me on especially busy days. Or a short meditation before bed and a little chat with spirit or a prayer. These rituals don’t have to be elaborate, actually short is best. But the consistency is key.

2. Clean, clear, declutter

Out with the old to make space for the new! This is my new motto. By clearing the clutter of your space, you actually help your brain to not feel so cluttered. Things start to look clearer and feel more calm. You are also energetically supporting yourself to help the change flow better through your space instead of clogging up your space. So get out the trash bins and the donate bags and let it go!

3. Take care of the physical body

Exercise, sleep, drink lots of water. We know these things. But seriously, this will help you SO much during this period of change. Our bodies retain so much energy, so if fear is present, guess what your body is holding onto.

I’m finding that exercise is helping me so so much. Especially exercise that makes me sweat a lot. My new spin bike is my absolute favorite way to get it all out. It feels like my body is releasing fear in each bead of sweat. Drinking water also helps flush out the fear and allow change to move through you. Sleep helps us process the change as well.

4. EFT

If you have read a few of my articles, you probably know that I’m a huge fan of EFT, also known as tapping. This simple method works similarly to acupuncture and works with energy meridians in the body. Energy can get stuck in the body so when we tap on certain points, we can help release it.

Eft helps me move energy through my body instead of it getting trapped in my body. This is extremely helpful to me as a highly sensitive person and an empath.

Here’s a really good video of one of my favorite tappers that you can follow along with 🙂 Brad Yates- Coping with change.
