I can already tell you if you clicked on this article to read, you are probably a lightworker. But if you want more proof, keep reading 🙂 In this article we will discuss what a lightworker is and 10 traits of a lightworker.

Before we come to the Earth plane, we sign up for different soul lessons and soul purposes depending on what we most need to satisfy for soul growth, karma, and soul contacts. Those that come here as lightworkers have a very special and important job.

We are here to raise the vibration of the planet. We came to help heal those that are suffering and help others remember why they are here, too. It is both a challenging and extremely rewarding job.

A lightworker may fully embrace his or her soul purpose by doing energy work, mediumship, channeling, or psychic work. Or some may choose to follow a less flashy career. I’ve met light-workers all over the place working as therapists, teachers, creatives, social worker, nurses and many others.

There’s no right or wrong way to be a lightworker. The most important thing is that you follow your heart.

1. You are sensitive

Have you heard the phrase “you’re too sensitive” way too many times? Are you an empath and feel everyone else’s feelings along with them (or for them)? Been there, friend. It’s an amazing gift and once you learn to control it, it’s a super power! This is a hallmark of all Lightworkers.

2. You know you’re here for a very special purpose, even if you don’t know what it is yet

Do you often feel like there’s something you should be doing? Something big. A longing from your soul? It’s a sign from the universe calling you to your purpose. Reminding you of your work you set out to do for this lifetime.

3. You see the good in people, even when they’re at their lowest

Lightworkers often can see and sense the good in all people and sincerely want to help.

4. You are kind of a loner and love to be by yourself

This is how we re-charge and connect to ourselves, our purpose and spirit. Embrace your call to be alone, dear  lightworker. You deserve the time and need it to do your work.

5. You don’t fit in and you know that you are different from most

I used to view this as a curse but now I embrace my being different. Many of us dim our light to try to fit in more. Don’t, dear lightworker. Own it and shine your light. The world needs your light.

6. You’ve experienced a dark night of the soul

You may have had a very rough childhood and/or experienced your fair share of trauma, narcissists, and life just completely falling apart. Spirit often fast-tracks lightworkers by giving many life lessons so that our soul learns what we need to learn so that we can get to the light-shining-helping-others part faster. Lucky us, huh?!

7. You are attracted to everything spiritual

You are probably attracted to Tarot cards, pendulums, mediums, crystals, psychics, energy work etc. You were probably attracted to the word lightworker before even knowing what it meant.

I remember being a teenager and loving the show The Long Island Medium with Theresa Caputo…and now I’m a medium. There’s no mistake in what you are interested in is usually what your gifts are!

8. You’ve had a big spiritual shift

Have you had a spiritual awakening or are you going through one right now? This is another hallmark trait of a lightworker. Going through intense healing, gaining a higher perspective, connecting with your guides and angels, are all important milestones for sharing your light.

9. You are passionate about your own soul growth

There are two types of people in the world: those that don’t examine their lives and those that do. We are constantly changing, questioning, healing, and adjusting for the better. Don’t be ok with the status quo, keep following your intuition.

10. You believe in a higher power

You trust that there is a consciousness out there greater than we are. This consciousness can have any name or none at all. You may consider the name to be God or Goddess, universe, or All That Is or any other name that feels right to you.

If you resonated with these 10 traits of a light-worker then congratulations! You are a lightworker.
