11 Spiritual Hacks that you can do to help yourself feel better instantly

In this article, I will be sharing 11 spiritual hacks you can do to help you feel better instantly. Have you found yourself spiraling into that icky soup of energy that is floating in the collective right now? Yeah, me too. There is so much instability right now, it’s so easy to get sucked into the energy of stress, anxiety, depression and overall chaos.

But I am here to remind you, it doesn’t have to be this way. As light workers, it’s our job to keep shining brightly! I am not saying you need to spiritually bypass and be light and love all the time. I am saying that you can feel it, acknowledge it and then YOU GET TO decide how you want to be going forward.

Think of these activities as coping mechanisms or tools in your tool box. If you notice yourself feeling low or stressed, open your tool box and grab one of your tools!

1. Take care of your physical body

Often times, our physical body is the most neglected in times of stress. Which can then lead to even more stress and ultimately, disease. So when you take care of your body, you are directly addressing the stress that is stored here AND it gives you a very tangible ‘thing to do’, besides stressing about external things.

Easy ways to take care of your physical body are:

stretch

eat healthy foods

drink enough water

take a shower or bath

Get into the habit of asking your body- What do I need right now?

2. Be in Nature

Mother nature is the remedy for our modern day stresses. Our bodies are not designed to be around constant noise, people, stress, lights, work. Being in nature soothes the nervous system and brings the body back into the parasympathetic state.

If this is an unfamiliar practice for you, try going into observation mode. Sit on a rock or a log and just notice: what do I see, hear smell, feel? Close your eyes and ask yourself the same questions again. Then take a lovely stroll and imagine the earth absorbing your stress with each step.

3. Journal

Journaling is maybe one of my favorite activities on this list. It is such a valuable tool for healing and for helping you spiritual hacksfeel better. Journaling allows the energy (thoughts) to leave your body and be deposited onto the paper.

Take a quiet moment, light a candle and pick up your journal. Allow yourself to write freely and without filter about anything that is bothering you, stressing you out, or just thoughts that may be on a loop. Just get it all OUT!

4. Have a cup of Tea

This probably sounds way too easy but it really does work as a hack to help yourself feel better! Don’t just drink a cup of tea. Make it a ritual. Notice the act of putting water in the kettle and turning on the stove. Take care in selecting your favorite mug. I highly recommend buying yourself a treat mug that you love! This is the one that I have and I LOVE it. 

Delight your senses as you smell your tea options. Pour your tea and wait for it to steep, using this opportunity to journal or close your eyes.

Then as you sip your tea, stay in the present moment. Notice how it tastes. Notice how good the warmth feels. Allow it to bring up feelings of gratitude.

5. Use Oracle Cards

Using oracle cards is one of my favorite ways to help myself feel better. I know that when I get out my cards, it’s a direct link to my guides and higher self and all of the comfort and wisdom they carry. So even on my darkest of days, I know I will be uplifted when I use my cards.

6. Use Essential Oils

Have you noticed that most of the spiritual hacks on this list are about coming into the present moment? That’s because when we are in the present moment, you aren’t sad about the past or worried about the future. All you are experiencing is in the now. Well, essential oils help you feel better by bringing you into the present moment too.

Finding the right scent can bring you out of a state of worry or depression and into one of calm and happiness. When you are using your oils, focus on what the smell makes you think of. How does it make you feel?

7. Pray

You do not have to be religious to pray. Praying is the act of talking to spirit, God, Source, Oneness, whatever your word is, it’s all the same. Talking to the one that made you brings about a feeling of peace and wholeness. When you pray, try not to focus on everything that is wrong but focus on everything that is right. When you pray, the universe is listening.

8. Moon Gaze or Sun Bask

Connecting to the sun, the star that is life giving to us, is an incredibly grounding practice. It also raises our vitamin D levels which has been proven to help with depression and immunity. Try sitting in the sun first thing in the morning. This also has the benefit of regulating your circadian rhythm, if your sleep cycles have been off.

It’s undeniable the connection we have to the moon. The tides synch up with it, women’s cycles do too. Gazing at the moon brings on a sense of peace and the acknowledgement that there is so much more than what the eye can see. It reminds us of our connection to the cosmos which helps with putting things in perspective. For optimum gazing, find a dark place, away from city lights if you can and during or near a full moon.

9. Go to bed early

Don’t underestimate the power of a good early bedtime. When you’ve been having a hard time, the body gets tired more easily, which can lead to more stress and lower immunity when not addressed. Go ahead, give yourself permission to go to sleep early. Tomorrow is a fresh new day.

10. Meditate

I know this may seem like a cliche thing to put on a spiritual list but hear me out. When there’s chaos in your world, meditation is an opportunity to escape the outer world and to go to your inner world. It can be a retreat, an escape if you allow it.

11. Gratitude

Gratitude is the ultimate spiritual hack. Having gratitude is a natural vibration raiser. If you are vibrating at the frequency of stress, anxiety, chaos or depression, your energy is low. I highly recommend the book “The Magic” by Rhonda Byrne. This is the author of “The Secret”. In “The Magic”, she has really beautiful exercises for gratitude, designed to be practiced daily.
